Our Honeymoon

We spent 3 days in Clearwater Beach to celebrate our nuptials. Cade was close by at a friends house.

Canadian Visitors

We had a great visit from our Canadian family Ginny, Lou, Maggie Maureen and Savannah all came down to travel Florida and enjoy the wedding. I can honestly say that the wedding would not have happened without all of their talented hands!

The Aunts and Savannah got to meet Cade for the first time! We kicked off their visit with a nights stay in Tampa and ended it in Clearwater Beach.

Reflections

Just a little over 6 months ago Taylor and I heard our baby boy cry for the first time. It was a breath taking moment, our lives would be forever changed. We had become a family.

Over the past couple of months I realized that I had never shared our birth story. So better late than never...here is it.

It was a Monday morning, at about 7:20am when Taylor parked our car at work. I had been telling him all weekend that I really didn't want to go back to work this week because I was 39 weeks and 3 days pregnant and things were starting to wear on my body. I had been having contractions all weekend long and in communication with the doctor who was waiting for them to become more regular.

I asked Taylor to walk to my classroom with me, we didn't even make it to the door. I knew, it was time to go. The doctors office was not yet open so we decided to stop at the store to get some coffee and then we took a walk around Venetian Gardens until it was time to go in.

I remember our doctor examining me and saying "It's go time"! We were prepared with all of the hospital bags in the car, so we went straight across the street and checked into the hospital.

At around 10am the doctor came over and broke my waters, pitocin was started to induce the labor and I requested an epidural. Things were moving along slowly and stopped progressing around 7pm. At 10pm, and 3 epidurals later the decision was made to have a Cesarian within the next 30 minutes we were in the operating room preparing to meet our baby boy.

At 10:55pm the love of our lives was born! Cade has been a blessing in so many ways. Watching Taylor take care of both of us for the first 2 weeks after delivery when I wasn't able to move made me fall in love with him all over again. Being a mommy is such an amazing feeling and I couldn't be happier!

Happy Fall

We have been super busy lately which is why there have not been many posts. We are in full swing with wedding planning and since school is back in session there is little time for posting. I hope everyone is doing well. We love you all!

Preparing for Isaac

We are currently under a tropical storm warning anticipating what will soon be Hurricane Isaac. Please rest assured that we will be just fine, our phones will likely not work well and we may lose power for a some time. I am going to try and get a weather radio tomorrow. We are stocked up on water and we have cooked food to last for several days. As of now there will not be a direct hit from Isaac but we will be getting the strong winds, rain and possible tornado's from Isaac. Our school district has not closed as of yet. We will be sure to keep our Canadian family posted.

With Love,
Rachelle, Taylor and Cade

Photo Shoot

Last weekend when Taylor and I were at a bodybuilding show in Tampa, Cade spent the night with my friend Cheryl. She is the one who always takes his photos for us and of course she took some more when he came to visit.

We have the happiest baby in the world!

I know it has been a while since I've been blogging so I wanted to give everyone a quick update. Cade is doing wonderful! He eats baby food on a daily basis now(banana's are his favorite) and he is tolerating a low lactose baby formula.

Cade is such a happy baby, he smiles all day long, loves Sponge Bob Squarepants and only cries if he is hungry or needs a diaper change. We feel so blessed to have a baby that sleeps all night long and is such a joy to be around.

A New School Year

Cade and my mom came to help out today at Meet the Teacher night! We had a wonderful time meeting all of the new smiling faces that I get to spend the next 9 months with. It was hard to get everyone's attention because Cade was entertaining the crowd.

Cade's 4 Month Check up

It is hard to believe that Cade turned 4 months old yesterday. He went for his check up and shots today. The doctor said he is in the 75th percentile for length and 25th percentile for weight. He is a lean and mean little boy and the doctor told us to keep doing whatever we are doing because he is happy an healthy! He now weighs 14lbs 4oz!
