We have reached our 27th week of pregnancy! It marks the ending of the second trimester and the beginning of the final trimester. Yesterday I had an emergency wisdom tooth extraction on a tooth that was broken off an infected causing me a lot of pain over the past couple of months. I am looking forward to this final trimester being much more enjoyable than the past two have been. We have registered for a tour of the maternity ward and a breast feeding class that will be coming up in the next couple of weeks.
Fetal Development:
During this week, the brain continues its rapid growth, and the lungs continue to grow. Eyelids begin to open, and the retinas begin to form. The baby will grow over 1/2 inch this week and will be about 1 1/3 feet long (from crown of head to the toes or 9.6 inches from crown to rump)!
Things I have learned in the past couple of weeks:
* Maalox is my best friend (acid reflux)
* Bending over and putting on my shoes has become a labor intensive task
* Sleeping is becoming a bit more difficult, it is hard to get comfortable
You look great! Have fun working in the yard.
